Downloading Content Automatically with the PEGMedia Desktop App

The PEGMedia Desktop app makes it easy for community members to get the content they want from PEGMedia. Instead of downloading each file manually from the website, the app watches your download queue and pulls new content down to your computer automatically. You can even subscribe to a show or a producer so that every new episode is downloaded for you as soon as it's published.
This guide walks through installing the app, signing in, configuring your settings, and setting up automatic downloads.
Before you start
You'll need a PEGMedia account with community membership. Community members can get eligible content for free.
The app is available for macOS (Apple Silicon), macOS (Intel), and Windows.
1. Download the app
During the beta, the download page isn't linked from the main navigation — go to it directly:

Choose the download for your platform:
macOS (Apple Silicon) — newer Macs
macOS (Intel) — older Macs
Windows
2. Install the app
On Windows, run the downloaded installer and follow the standard prompts.
On macOS, opening the download presents a window where you drag the PEGMedia Desktop icon into your Applications folder.
Once installed, launch the app.
3. Sign in
The first time you open the app, you'll be prompted to sign in to PEGMedia.
Click Sign in. Your web browser opens.
Sign in with the PEGMedia account you want to connect.
Authorize the app when prompted.
Return to the PEGMedia Desktop app — you'll see that you're connected and signed in.
4. Configure your settings
After signing in, open the Settings tab to tell the app how you'd like it to behave.
Click Save Settings when you're done.
Keeping the app up to date: The app updates itself automatically once installed. You can also check manually with Check for updates at the bottom of the Settings screen.
5. Add content to your download queue
With the app installed and running, anything you add to your download queue on the website will be picked up and downloaded automatically.
Go to pegmedia.org and browse or search for the content you want.
Open an episode. As a community member, eligible content shows as Free with your community membership.
Click Add to Download Queue.
You can add items to your queue from any device — for example, while browsing on your phone — and the desktop app will download them the next time it checks your queue. If the app is already running, it typically catches the new item within moments and begins downloading it to your computer.
6. Subscribe to shows or producers for automatic downloads
The real convenience comes from subscriptions. When you subscribe, new episodes are added to your queue — and downloaded by the app — automatically.
On pegmedia.org, open a show (or a producer).
Choose to subscribe to the show or subscribe to the producer.
In Manage subscription, turn on Subscribe to new episodes so you're notified when new episodes are published.
Choose how new episodes are handled:
Just notify me — don't auto-add; only tell you when new episodes are published.
Always auto-purchase — add and purchase every new episode. Sponsored episodes are free to you; otherwise your balance is charged.
Only when the producer sponsors — auto-purchase only episodes that are free to you (producer-sponsored). You're never charged.
Click Done.
From then on, as that show or producer publishes new episodes, they'll flow into your download queue and the app will download them automatically.
